Ian Spence has been involved in researching and advising companies in the technology sector for 15 years.
Ian began his career as a companies reporter for the Investors Chronicle before starting his career in broking.
After a number of years with Granville & Co, Ian moved to Panmure Gordon in 1998 as Associate Director but later returned to Granville which by then was owned by Robert W Baird.
Initially the lead Software and IT Services analyst, Ian later became Head of Technology Research managing a team covering software, hardware and telecoms research. Ian was voted ‘TechMARK Analyst of the Year’ in 2004.
In 2007, Ian decided that the time was right to capitalise on his years of experience in the City by setting up I S Research.
Since then, as if to affirm the merit of this decision, Ian was again voted TechMARK analyst of the year; the only analyst to be receive the award for a second time and the only independent analyst to be recognised in this way.
