Our research has been recognised by fund managers as some of the best in the market. ISR’s founder and lead analyst, Ian Spence has been voted TechMARK analyst of the year twice. The most recent award was in 2008 making Ian the only independent analyst to win the award; all other past winners remain in the broking sector.

: Sector specialisation

All of the companies under coverage are technology led businesses and almost all are quoted in the technology sector. This level of sector specialisation not only significantly improves the quality of research, it also leads to much greater impact with fund managers. Deep sector expertise also permeates our distribution capabilities and means that our research penetrates deeper into the technology investor universe.

We make no excuse about repeatedly coming back to this issue. Whilst fund managers may read biased research to understand what is happening to an existing portfolio company, they will not use it to source new investment ideas. Our research is genuinely independent and so has credibility with fund mangers that can rely on it when looking for new investment ideas.

The structure of our company enables us to provide a market leading service at a substantially lower fee rate than anyone else in the market. We can do this for two reasons. First, we have invested heavily in our technology platform which facilitates a high degree of automation and negates the need for personnel overhead. Secondly, because the company is run by those that write the research, we have minimised the corporate overhead.
